It was announced today that there would be an EB-5 Regional Center Program extension.
A short-term continuing resolution extending the EB-5 Regional Center Program has been included in the spending package that President Trump signed today. The continuing resolution extends the program as-is until December 7, 2018.Congress will now go on recess. New legislation will not be heard until November at the earliest. While many inside and outside the EB-5 industry would like to see reforms made to the program, it has not happened. Some critics have even called for the expiration of the regional center program, however, the added economic growth and the job creation have kept the program intact. Lawmakers, instead, are seemingly ignoring the program for the moment.Reforms such as an increased minimum investment amount and changes to the targeted employment areas may still occur in the near future.Potential investors may still benefit greatly from investing in the regional center program early as to lock in their spots. Each country only gets a limited number of visas issued. Mainland China and Vietnam have already faced EB-5 visa retrogression, other countries that may face it soon include South Korea, India and Brazil. [formidable id="11" title="1"]
